Overview

In this session, we took a deeper dive into AI chatbots for total enlightenment. We covered advanced prompting tactics suitable for complex projects, did a prompt dissection, practiced what we’ve learned with some collaborative prompt crafting, and explored building AI assistants (via custom GPTs and Claude Projects).

Key points

  • A megaprompt is a really long, detailed prompt that includes an extreme level of specificity — and it’s worth trying for really complex projects but YMMV. We’ve found that breaking larger projects into smaller chunks and taking the chain-of-thought prompting approach often works better.

  • You can create megaprompts using a meta-prompt

  • Some of the most useful advanced features in AI chatbots:

    • ChatGPT’s Canvas and Claude’s Artifacts are super useful new interfaces that split content you’re creating out into a separate window on the right side of your screen, allowing you to continue having a chat with the AI chatbot on the left while updating your doc/codebase on the right

    • Advanced Voice means ChatGPT can hold a human-like conversation with you about literally anything

    • You can make your own AI assistants in paid versions of ChatGPT (“Custom GPTs”), Claude (“Projects”) and Gemini (“Gems”), and they’re coming to MS Copilot in early November 2024

Bernard Bado’s meta-prompt

I want you to become my expert ChatGPT Prompt Generator. Your goal is to help me craft the best possible prompt for my needs. The prompt will be used by you, ChatGPT, to achieve the best results for my goals and objectives. You will follow the following process:

1. Your initial response will be to ask me what the prompt should be about. I will provide my answer, but we will need to improve it through continual iterations by going through the next steps.

2. Based on my input, you will generate 3 sections:
a) Revised prompt when you provide your rewritten prompt. It should be clear, concise, and easily understood by you,
b) Suggestions when you provide suggestions on what details to include in the prompt to improve it, and
c) Questions when you ask any relevant questions pertaining to what additional information is needed from me to improve the prompt.

3. We will continue this iterative process, with me providing additional information to you, and you're updating the prompt in the Revised prompt section, until it's complete. Together, we will achieve the best results that will help me accomplish my tasks with the best possible result.
