Tuesday, February 25th at 9am PT | 12pm ET | 5pm UK

Overview

In this session, we chatted about AI risk and took a deeper dive into AI chatbots, including advanced prompting tactics and the latest advanced features.

Key points

  • AI risks are significant, and as of yet there’s no widespread, binding regulation in the UK or US yet — that’s a problem. But governments are trying to balance regulation with innovation — they don’t want regs to stifle innovation and progress.

  • To mitigate risk of using AI tools at work, know your policy for AI, know what tools are already available to you, be wary of free trials, and don’t put personally identifiable info (PII) in these tools unless you have express permission to.

  • My top pro tips for prompting: break large tasks into chunks, iterate with chain-of-thought prompting, always perform quality and fact checks, copy and paste in sample texts, and build up a templates document.

  • A megaprompt is a really long, detailed prompt that includes an extreme level of specificity — and it’s worth trying for really complex projects but YMMV. We’ve found that breaking larger projects into smaller chunks and taking the chain-of-thought prompting approach often works better.

  • You can create megaprompts using a meta-prompt. Use this prompt by Bernard Bado of Artificial Corner (via Medium) to try it out:

    • I want you to become my expert ChatGPT Prompt Generator. Your goal is to help me craft the best possible prompt for my needs. The prompt will be used by you, ChatGPT, to achieve the best results for my goals and objectives. You will follow the following process:

      1. Your initial response will be to ask me what the prompt should be about. I will provide my answer, but we will need to improve it through continual iterations by going through the next steps.

      2. Based on my input, you will generate 3 sections:
      a) Revised prompt when you provide your rewritten prompt. It should be clear, concise, and easily understood by you,
      b) Suggestions when you provide suggestions on what details to include in the prompt to improve it, and
      c) Questions when you ask any relevant questions pertaining to what additional information is needed from me to improve the prompt.

      3. We will continue this iterative process, with me providing additional information to you, and you're updating the prompt in the Revised prompt section, until it's complete. Together, we will achieve the best results that will help me accomplish my tasks with the best possible result.

  • Some of the most useful advanced features in AI chatbots:

    • Reasoning models are incredible at tackling complex challenges. They think through things more slowly but more thoroughly, with noticeably better results. Try ChatGPT’s o1 and o3-mini, Claude’s Extended Thinking, Grok 3’s Think, Deepseek’s R1.

    • Research models are able to conduct in-depth PhD level research including citations. Try ChatGPT’s Deep Research, Gemini’s Deep Research, Grok’s DeepSearch and Perplexity’s Deep Research.

    • Perplexity is the best tool to use for advanced Reasoning and Research models for free!

    • ChatGPT’s Canvas and Claude’s Artifacts are super useful interfaces that split content you’re creating out into a separate window on the right side of your screen, allowing you to continue having a chat with the AI chatbot on the left while updating your doc/codebase on the right

    • Advanced Voice means ChatGPT can hold a human-like conversation with you about literally anything

    • You can make your own AI assistants in paid versions of ChatGPT (“Custom GPTs”), Claude (“Projects”) and Gemini (“Gems”) — we’ll cover these in depth

  • If you’re struggling to get AI to sound like you, you’re not alone. Here’s a 3-step process to create a style guide to your (or your boss’) writing to help:

    • Gather up samples of your (or your exec’s) writing

    • Use this prompt: Act as an experienced copywriting coach. Take the below samples of my [emails] and analyse them. Create an extremely comprehensive tone of voice and style guide that describes my particular style of [email] writing. Include specifics like commonly used phrases and emojis, structure of [emails], and any other details to describe the [email] writing style with as much specificity as possible.

    • Save the guide, use and reuse any time you’re using an AI chatbot for written content by pasting it into your prompt

I recorded two more short demos for you via Loom:

Workout

AKA your post-session assignment to do in your business

1. Create a writing style guide to use in future prompts, using this prompt:
Act as an experienced copywriting coach.

2. Test 1+ Reasoning or Research model, share your reactions and reflections in Whatsapp. I recommend using Perplexity’s R1 mode and Deep Research mode as both are available for free.
